FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Answered candidly, because candor is free.
- How are you able to provide registered agent service so cheap?
- We don't actually know. We didn't really do the math, but it sounded like a great way to make some money.
- Why would anyone sue me if I've done nothing wrong?
- Because it works. There are people who look for companies with a registered agent like us, file a nuisance claim, and have it served on a day they know our door is locked. We don't forward what we don't receive, you never answer, and they win by default. To be perfectly candid, that is our business model working exactly as designed - for them.
- What happens if I'm served?
- To be perfectly candid, we have no idea.
- Do you renew my service each year?
- No. That would be a promise.
- Who is YOUR registered agent?
- Someone else. We're not crazy.
- Can I reach a human?
- Only if you are a process server, and only if the door is unlocked.
- What does "not liable" mean?
- It means the fees you paid us in the three months before the problem. You pay once a year, so if you are sued in the first ninety days that is $1.25. If you are sued on day ninety-one, the fees you paid in the preceding three months come to zero, and we keep the $1.25. Spend it wisely.
- Do you have an office?
- We have an address. There is a building at it. Whether anyone is inside is a record we do not keep.
- Do you accept service of process?
- Accept is a strong word.
- How do I cancel?
- You don't need to. Nothing renews. It cancels itself, usually at the worst possible moment.
- Is there a cheaper one? A pricier one?
- Three cheaper, nine pricier, regrettably. YOLO Registered Agent charges $2.50 and does not offer the same level of not doing anything; their cap is $0.63 to our full $1.25. Tree Fiddy Registered Agents charges $3.50, priced to the half dollar, which tells you everything. IDGAF Registered Agents charges $1 and could not be bothered to write a longer sentence about it. IDGAF Agents charges $24 and dropped the word registered, which at that price we would have kept. We are the premium bargain. The word premium is doing a lot of work here, and so is the word bargain, and none of it is being done for those four. Mid Registered Agents charges $37 for adequacy, Mid Registered Agent $27 or whatever, Dogwater Registered Agents $17 for something technically potable, Dogwater Registered Agent $7 to be the bowl, Mid Wyoming Agents $22 for one state, Mid Wyoming Agent $12 for less of that state, and 19 Registered Agents and 19 Registered Agent $19 apiece, which between them is thirty eight dollars for the same nothing twice. Then the Wyoming crowd, in price order: Bucking Horse Agents at $0, Sagebrush Registered Agent at $2, World Registered Agents at $3, Tumbleweed Registered Agent at $4, Wind River Agents at $6, Epic Registered Agents at $8, Sagebrush Agents at $9, Bighorn Agents at $10, Big Sky Registered Agent Co. at $11, Ranch Hand Agents at $14, Prairie Registered Agent at $16, CRAWyoming at $19.99, High Sky Registered Agent at $21, Tumbleweed Agents at $23, Sky High Registered Agents at $26, Bison Registered Agent at $28, Sky High Registered Agent at $29, Registered Agents of WY at $30, Devils Tower Registered Agent at $31, Devils Tower Registered Agents at $32, High Sky Registered Agents at $33, Registered Agent of WY at $34, Big Sky Agent at $36, Antelope Agents at $38, Big Sky Registered Agent at $40, Ranch Registered Agent at $41, World Registered Agent at $42, Howdy Registered Agent at $43, Epic Registered Agent at $44 and X Registered Agents at $49. Same nothing, one state, mountain views.
- Is this legal?
- Every state has a statute about exactly that. We reproduced them on the state pages so you can read what happens when an agent does what we do. We have not read them.
- Is this a real company?
- It is real. The price is real, the terms are real, the statutes on the state pages are real, and so is what they describe. Read the terms before you decide the price is the only thing that matters.
